This weekend the Yankees are taking on the Cleveland Indians in the Bronx. The Indians, while an American League team, are not what one thinks of when it comes to a rivalry with the Yankees. But for me, it's personal.

When I was a kid, the biggest annoyance for me as a White Sox fan were the Indians and their fans. It could have had a lot to do with my family's frequent trips to theme parks based in Ohio (Woo!!! Kings Island!!!) where baseball caps with the Indians mascot logo were ubiquitous or friends of my father's who were very, very proud (read: obnoxious) Indians fans. Or maybe it was just that awful chant the fans did. I always dreaded seeing the good guys play the Indians, even though in 1993, the White Sox went 9 and 3 against the Tribe.
Right now, the Yankees are nursing a sliding record with a side of bruised egos, and while we are getting Grandy back tonight, I'm still nervous. My biggest fear, that the Yanks will get swept by a team with a .378 average and bottom-feeder status in the Central.
Major League rocks, though. Wild Thing, I think I love you.
