Beating the Off-Day Blues: Click with the Clicker

The Clicker is a new universal remote with one key feature for sports-lovers, or anyone over 21: a built-in bottle opener. I wrote about the Clicker in my Father's Day Gift Guide and the reps for the company were nice enough to give me one to test out AND drumroll please, one Clicker to giveaway to my readers! Details on that at the end of the post.

The Clicker has features for your TV, cable box, DVD/Bluray player, VCR (whatever, I still have one. How else am I going to watch old Disney cartoons), satellite and pretty much everything else you have hooked up to your entertainment center. The most exciting feature for me? It works with my DVR!

I'm not the most tech-savvy person in the world (I'm lucky I can use basic HTML in a pinch and as you may remember, it took me more than a month to figure out the "Sports Action" feature of my camera) so Howie set up the remote on Sunday night. We were drinking wine on Sunday, so Frenchie and I used the Clicker tonight to crack open a couple of Blue Point Toasted Lagers and watch Sunday's Mad Men. Using the remote, it was easy to access the DVR list, and after sifting through all of the How I Met Your Mother reruns, we settled into our show.

The Clicker worked seamlessly to open our beers and to watch our show. Neither of us had any complaint and there was no rushing back into the kitchen to grab the bottle opener magnet on the fridge to open our next round.

And can you argue with the fact that the Clicker comes in Yankee blue? Pick one up tomorrow to get ready for the playoffs and it will keep you company through football season and the start of hockey before baseball returns. Visit www.MyClicker.com to get one. Or...

I have one Clicker, retail value $24, for a lucky reader. Want to win it? Just do the following:

To get one entry: Leave a comment on this entry with your email address and your favorite beer/refreshment that requires a bottle opener - also feel free to comment about the post. Only one entry per person, please.

To get an additional entry: Tweet the following about the contest, once per day, so you can get five extra entries doing this! - Visit @YourBballGirl's blog at http://bit.ly/bevKdp by Saturday 10/9/10 to win a free Clicker remote!

Don't use Twitter? Maybe it's time you did! There is always great baseball talk going on.

Please note, the contest is open to U.S. residents only and you must respond to my email telling you that you have won within 48 hours of the contest ending at 7:59 p.m. EST on Sundday, October 10, 2010 (one minute before first pitch of the Yankees 4th ALDS game, if necessary). If you win, but I don't hear back from you ,I will have to go to another person.

One winner will be chosen by random.org on Sunday, October 10, 2010. Good luck and thanks for playing!

*While I am a savvy PR girl, I was not paid for these opinions. I was provided product to test and review and additional product for a giveaway. Thanks for reading the fine print.*

  1. i love the blog. the clicker is my best friend . gives me comfort since im stuck wth one hand.
    beer would be heinken
    love ya jenjeter

  2. I'm not tech savvy either! But anything that streamlines the TV and sports-viewing process is, as Martha would say, a good thing!

And great color. Too bad they can't do special edition colors - white with blue pinstripes would be nice!

  3. Labatt Blue Light - ahh

Too bad the bars that carry it in NYC are far and few in-between, but I am happy to report that Stans is a proud carrier. Just another reason to love that Yankees bar!
