Mr. 3003

On Saturday, July 9th, 2011, after the disappointment of a washed-out Friday game (that I was supposed to attend with Double Hat Action Bronson), Derek Jeter joined the 3000-hit club.

Of course, I was there. What did you expect?

Enjoy some pics taken from 203 and a little narrative on his 5-5 day that made Jeter the 28th man to hit more than 3000 hits in his career.
#2 is #1

Jeter swaggered to the plate

He did his prep
He swung the bat
He touched the bases
He even stole a base
He did his thing at short
And kicked some dirt
In the bottom of the 9th, he watched a ball that was first thrown by Mo, then hit by some Ray, arch high in the air. The ball was eventually caught by Grandy at the wall, and led to the Yankees' win
After the game, Derek chatted with Kim Jones and a few other reporters
Before his press conference
Where he answered questions about that one really, really big hit
That was caught by some nice kid who just wanted Jeter to have the ball
Oh, and AJ pitched too

3003 blerns is impressive. Oh wait, these are just hits. Meh.

  3. Except for the word "blerns" that was complete gibberish.
